The Reading Terminal Market is an enclosed market that offers over 80 merchants that have fresh produce, meats, fish, ice cream, flowers, baked goods, clothing, books, and ethnic food. Located on 12th and Arch Streets, if you're looking for things to do in Philly, you have to drop by!
The Reading Terminal Market owes its origin to the farmers who would sell their fresh produce in the city in the mid 1800's. In 1859 two markets were constructed, the Franklin Market and the Farmers' Market. These served as the beginnings of what would become the Reading Terminal Market.
Today the market serves as a must see Philadelphia attractions, right up there with the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Art Museum. It's located next to two Marriott Hotels, a Hilton Garden Inn, the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the Philadelphia Greyhound Terminal, the Gallery at Market East mall, and SEPTA's Market East station. With such close proximity to so many places, the Reading Terminal Market always has many visitors, from locals to out-of -towners looking for the best things to see in Philly.
Come by and see this Philadelphia landmark!
